On The Water Tomorrow
We were planning to do a three hour cruise tomorrow around Manhattan. If it is raining do you think it is still worth doing? It’s quite expensive so don’t want to book and pay for it if it is going to be really affected by the weather. It’s an indoor boat but I’m just wondering about visibility.
Thanks for any advice.

For Sat.: "Cloudy and windy in the morning, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Morning high of 43F with temps falling to near freezing. Winds NW at 20 to 30 mph. Higher wind gusts possible."

I'm the first to recommend a boat tour around manhattan but the forecast tomorrow looks pretty raw. On accuweather hourly forecast, I don't see rain but I see lots of wind and cold. And the wind chill! yikes! The sun breaks some 1pm ish and wind lets up some but still in the mid-high teens. If the boat is spacious & comfortable inside maybe...tough call if you ask me

Around Manhattan and expensive? What company? The only co. I know that circumnavigates is CircleLine and it'snot what I'd call expensive and wouldn't,t do it at this time of year egardles of weather.

Agreed, the Circle Line full island cruise is relatively inexpensive.
There is one of those tomorrow at noon, if that's the one you're referring to? If so, yes, I'd take the chance. Here is why; the clouds might break in the early afternoon. It will still be mild at noon, but the temps drop by 20 degrees by 3:00 pm.
Look at it this way, you can't control the weather and it's not going to be that bad. You're on vacation, make the best of it and enjoy things the best you can. It will still be an experience, even if the weather isn't perfect.

There are two Classic Harbor line tours that ALSO circumnavigates the whole of the island of Manhattan:
the AIAANY architecture tour ($78) and the Around Manhattan Brunch Cruise ($108). The first leaves at 1.30 tomorrow and the second one is NOT available on the 13th.
It is a much smaller boat than the Circle Line. It's inside, though the large plate glass windows can be slid open on warmer days. We did this in April 2016 on a beautiful day with the windows wide open. Going all the way around Manhattan is amazing (we did the Circle Line version of the complete circumnavigation on our 1994 trip and loved it too).
We also went on another Classic Harbor Line tour at night in December 2016 (jazz and champagne). The windows needed to be kept shut that evening, but the views were gorgeous.
If the AIAANYC tour is the one you're planning on going on, and given the clouds are clearing for the afternoon, I'd go for it! Also, there's 21 seats left on the tour as of now, so that means there's space to spread out!!

Classic Harbor "AIANY around Manhattan" tour? It's $78 pp. OK in nice weather when you can sit outside. It's long &, I will tell you from experience, the narration is monotonous. Excellent cider though. I'm sure you could wait, see what weather is like, & get tickets just before.Edited: today, 08:50

Since it will be windy, you may want to consider whether you will be affected by the rocking of the boat as I assume there will be choppy waves to contend with.

I’ve been in the AIA Around Manhattan cruise several times and I love the narration. The Classic Harbor Line boat cabins are so comfortable, and the views are so nice, that temperature doesn’t really matter — you don’t need to go outside. As long as it’s not pouring rain or so cloudy or foggy that views are obscured, it should still be enjoyable!
9. Re: On The Water Tomorrow
Tomorrow is looking like a very rainy day. It was so foggy today, the Staten Island Ferry was on a limited schedule.
I'd pass - rain, wind and temperatures getting lower.
Really not worth it.

Yes it is the classic harbour AIANY cruise. I’m torn as to whether to do it or not. It may be a decision for the morning.. I’m checking the weather regularly!Edited: today, 14:11
