High winds, cold temperatures caused issues when fighting it

House fire south of Dakota City | love car

DAKOTA CITY, Neb. - Authorities are responding to a fire south of Dakota City. 

The fire was fully engulfed at a house off Highway 77 a few miles south of Dakota City.

Homer, Dakota City, and South Sioux City fire departments were on scene fighting the fire. 

High winds and cold temperatures caused issues in fighting the fire.

The house is considered a complete loss.

Crews believe the fire started in the attic around 8:45 a.m.

The owner of the house was out at the time. A passerby reported it to police. 

The cause of the fire is unknown.

A press conference for the fire is scheduled and we'll have more at 5 and 6.
